» 2008 Ford Flex Hits Red Carpet As Part Of Bet Awards '08 Activities
Ford's distinctive all-new vehicle - the 2009 Ford Flex - will bring some of the hottest names in Hip Hop & R&B to the red carpet Tuesday evening for events surrounding the BET Awards '08—often dubbed as the "hottest ticket on television."

The show will air live from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on June 24 at 8:00 p.m. R&B Singer Trey Songz will be among the celebrities shuttled around town in the vehicle from Ford. He is nominated for Best Male R&B Artist at the Awards show. Other celebrity Flex arrivals to include Basketball Star Chris Webber, Danity Kane, Day 26, Janelle Monae, Rocsi and Terrence J of BET's "106 & Park" and Alicia Renee.

In addition to providing transportation to stars, Ford is partnering with BET on the official awards show after party and will have planted on the red carpet interpretations of the Flex designed by Celebrity Customizers Funkmaster Flex and Chip Foose. Both vehicles offer a unique interpretation of the possibilities of this distinctive new vehicle. Ford's activities will also be integrated into the official BET Awards recap show airing June 25 on BET's "Black Carpet."

As part of the sponsorship, Ford will be integrated into the BET awards microsite landing page. This will include a page takeover on BET's mobile site with selected nominee's ring tones; a Ford Flex branded online photo flipbook featuring images of celebrity arrivals at the awards show after party in addition to a mobile link within the navigation bar on the official awards page. All of these efforts will drive traffic back to www.fordurban.com, Ford's interactive lifestyle destination.

F'N MTV is a new show on MTV where artists come by to premiere their music videos and perform. I don't know if they will perform yet or not, but I am hoping so! » Concerts at Six Flags St. Louis are getting underway this week at the amusement park’s Old Glory Amphitheater. And with acts such as Mario, Flo Rida, Day-26, Danity Kane, and Natasha Bedingfield on tap, Old Glory is looking like a real destination for R&B, hip-hop, and pop acts.

Most of the bigger shows are under Six Flags’ Starburst Thursday Night Concert Series, which begins with All Time Low at 7 p.m. Thursday. Mario is at 7 p.m. June 12, Flo Rida is at 7 p.m. June 26, Day-26 is at 7 p.m. July 3, Danity Kane is at 7 p.m. July 10, Lady Antebellum is at 7 p.m. July 17, and Bedingfield is at 7 p.m. July 24.

The Sunday Rocks series features Aly & AJ at 7 p.m. Sunday, Demi Lovato at 7 p.m. June 15, Colby O’Donis & Jabbawockeez at 7 p.m. June 22, Gavin DeGraw at 7 p.m. June 29, and Raven-Symone at 7 p.m. July 20.

A Six Flags representive says Raven-Symone, who pulled the plug on her tour which wiped out a Chaifetz Arena show, is indeed coming to Six Flags.

Sunday Rocks and Thursday Night Concert Series shows are free with park admission or season passes. A free reserved seating pass is required, and is available at the box office day of show.

Christian music finds its groove at Six Flags as well with JoyFest featuring Third Day at 7 p.m. June 28, Christian Family Day with Newsboys at 7 p.m. Aug. 9, and Praise-A-Palooza with Tobymac at 6 p.m. Sept. 20.

Advance/day-of-show seating is $6-$8 for the Christian music shows.

The “Making The Band 4 Tour” starring Cheri Dennis, Donnie Klang, Day26 and Danity Kane rolled into Baltimore, Maryland last night. The tour has been plagued by numerous show cancellations due to low interest, but it didn’t look like B-More was affected–the Pier Six Concert Pavilion where the concert was held was packed.

Before I get into the show, I have to admit a few things:

I loved DK on their first album, watched every episode of MTB4 last season, but I was just not really loving what I heard on this album besides “Damaged.” I like Day26 but I wasn’t fully convinced I’d love their live show. I bought my tickets for the show shortly after the MTB4 season finale so the excitement and novelty of the show was still strong–months later, however, I found myself sorely regretting the purchase and wasn’t really looking forward to going. Now that I’ve gotten that off my chest….

Bryan (UBG): Watching you guys on TRL recently, your performances seem to be getting better and better. Is it getting more comfortable for you guys to do live performances at this point?
Brian (Day 26): Definitely from jump we’ve been comfortable, but with each performance we do feel that we have gotten better.
Mike (Day 26): We were all comfortable performing, but we just had to get to know each other onstage.

Bryan (UBG): You guys are headed out on your first tour soon with label-mates Danity Kane and Cheri Dennis, what can fans expect to see from you guys when they attend the show?
Q (Day 26): We’re about to start like a boot camp. We are still growing so we want to be the best we can be and give the best show that we can give.

Bryan (UBG): What was the hardest part about recording the album?
Brian (Day 26): Working with Diddy! Diddy is a true perfectionist, and he doesn’t just accept anything. We would record stuff over and over until he thought that it was just right.

Bryan (UBG): You’ve been performing “Since You’ve Been Gone” a lot is that the next single?
Brian (Day 26): Yes, but we’re actually releasing two singles, “Since You’ve Been Gone” & “In My Bed”. We want to give you double the pleasure and double the fun, especially for the ladies.

» Day 26 has something to prove. Mix the stigma of being a group groomed by reality television, getting respect as an R&B group in the age of the solo artist, and having Diddy as your boss. You might just sweat a little.

Yet on this day in the bright green room of their record label, the guys seem as cool as ice. Willie sits quietly on a camel-colored couch; Q and Mike use their laptops, while Brian and Rob have yet to make an appearance.

In true artist fashion, the group makes small talk about ordering lunch and their hectic schedules. In this environment they’re more themselves sans their boy band moves that make 14-year old girls scream. That is until Mike channels Bobby Brown in his hay-day by opening his legs and seductively sliding his way too close for comfort. Perhaps rejection isn’t something he’s used to, but realizing he’s gone too far (and after getting a mild scolding from the other group members), he resigns himself to lying on the floor to play with his chain. » Like us, you probably fell in love with the guys of Day26 when they started out as hopefuls on the hit MTV show Making the Band 4. Despite gaining stardom through a reality TV show, Diddy's newest protégés have proved that they have real talent (we're pretty sure they wouldn't have been picked if they didn't). We had a chance to chat with Brian, Willie, Q, and Robert to find out why they'll have way more than just fifteen minutes of fame.

How does it feel to have your debut album go number one?
Brian: I feel good! It's a big blessing that we're new artists, even reality TV stars, and we came out with our album and people actually went out and bought it. I thank God every single day for it.
Robert: It's great. First of all, we're working with Diddy and he makes legends. I didn't expect anything different. And I have four amazing group members vocally. There was no way that album couldn't go number one. On top of that, it's good to know that we have support from our fans because our fans actually picked us to be in this band. They are the ones that are responsible for making us have a number one debut album.

Coming off Making the Band, did you think that you would be this successful?
Brian: I was kind of nervous because I watched previous seasons. The first band that Diddy picked didn't really go platinum and they debuted at number two. And then they broke up. My big fear was that people wouldn't take us seriously.

"Imagine sleepaway camp for adults with a lot of money and a lot of success," he clarified. "Anything can happen."

Diddy is getting ready to send his two biggest acts, Danity Kane and Day26, on the road in a couple of weeks. Not only will we see the groups performing, but we'll also get to check out all the backstage and out-of-venue chaos: The jaunt will be filmed for the next season of "Making the Band."

"They're gonna hone their craft. This is just phase one of the tour," Diddy detailed. "We're going to a lot of the cities that support us."

» Diddy has just made another band No. 1.

The hip-hop mastermind, who took over the Making the Band series when it moved to MTV, has now seen his two latest creations top the charts in back-to-back weeks. Last week, it was Danity Kane's sophomore release, Welcome to the Dollhouse; this week, the freshly minted Day26 responded in kind with its eponymous debut opening at No. 1.

Day26 sold 190,000 copies for the week ended Sunday, per Nielsen SoundScan. Welcome to the Dollhouse, meanwhile, tumbled three spots to No. 4, selling another 89,000 copies.

Coincidentally, Day26 is the first new group to debut at No. 1 since Danity Kane's chart-topping bow in 2006. Day26 is also the first male group to accomplish this feat since the Eminem-led D12 reigned with 2001's Devil's Night.

Day26 led four Top 10 bows.

But at the end of the day it usually works. They see what you go through to get here. You get here and they love you for it. We really can't hate the engine that got us here.

» One "Making the Band" act replaces another at the summit of The Billboard 200, as Day26's self-titled debut bumps Danity Kane's "Welcome to the Dollhouse" from No. 1.

The new Bad Boy album moved 190,000 copies this week, according to Nielsen SoundScan, a marked decline from Danity Kane's 236,000-copy start last week. Day26 is the first new male group to open at No. 1 since 2001, when D12 bowed on top with "Devil's Night." It's also the highest bow for a debut album by a group since Danity Kane's eponymous first set started at No. 1 in 2006.

Meanwhile, "Dollhouse" falls 1-4 with 89,000, a 62% sales decrease. Panic At The Disco's sophomore set, "Pretty. Odd." (Fueled by Ramen/Atlantic), enters at No. 2 with 139,000. That easily trumps the group's previous best sales week, when "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" moved 45,000 during Christmas week in 2006.

» After female group Danity Kane's first album went platinum, rapper-fashion designer-music mogul Diddy is looking for a repeat -- this time with the all-male Day 26, a.k.a. the guys from "Making the Band 4."

I caught up with Day 26 member Michael McCluney, a 21-year-old Gaffney, S.C., native, by phone while he was between rehearsals in New York for today's live "MTB" finale (8 p.m., MTV) and promotional appearances for the new album, which drops Tuesday.

Q. What's it like working for Diddy?

It's stressful, but at the same time it's helpful. You're always worried about what he's going to say ... so you try to stay one step ahead so he has nothing to critique you on.

Q. Are you surprised by the success of the show?

"I have been surprised by how big it's getting. It's crazy. I feel really blessed to be in this situation."

Q. How are you dealing with your newfound fame?
"We get fame on the level of really big celebrities. I love it, but I can't do anything I used to do without bodyguards. I can't even walk in the mall by myself."

Q. Favorite song on the album?

" `Don't Fight the Feeling.' It's a really big hit."

Diddy's male R&B group, Day 26, is preparing to drop their debut album on Tuesday (March 25th). In this SOHH exclusive, we talk to the Bad Boys about the video for their first single, "Got Me Going", the group name and how they're coming to take over the game.

During the start of the second season of Making The Band 4, Diddy announced the name of his newly formed male R&B group. The group, which is comprised of Brian, Big Mike, Que, Robert, and Willie is called Day26, a name which they are quite fond of.
